Shin splints are caused by repeating trauma to the connective tissue surrounding the Tibia (shin). The pain comes from overuse of the muscles. The muscle becomes inflamed causing the pain. This is commonly seen in runners, soccer players, cyclists, flat feet and those who stand for long periods of time. The Stinger is the answer for treating Shin Splints. The cold takes down inflammation while the massage (rolling) pushes out all the lactic acid. New blood flow comes to the shin during this process. When the muscles rewarm, the blood flow increases healing the muscle faster. The Stinger speeds up the body's natural recovery process and helps eliminate shin splints.
